Considering Holly´s short career his contribution to modern music is outstanding! Holly is RARE!
ALBERT EINSTEIN (1879-1955) - considered one of the greatest and most original thinkers of our time. Einstein´s theories of "Relativity" (concerning time, space and matter) changed the view of the "Universe" and laid the foundation to Atomic Energy use. Einstein was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his less known work on the photoelectric effect... Einstein is SCARCE!

ISABEL "LA CATOLICA" (1451-1504) - the Spanish Queen of Castile and Aragon may be the woman with the greatest historic impact since the Virgin Mary! Document signed "Yo la Reyna" (I the Queen). RARE!
JOHN F.KENNEDY (1917-63) - the President was a prominent orator and became an inspiration to the "post-war generation", radiating youth and health and maybe he saved mankind from a nuclear disaster. The traumatic assassination in Dallas remains a troublesome mystery, adding to the myth. An early signed letter, later items are mostly signed by "autopens". A genuine Kennedy is RARE!
ADOLF HITLER (1889-1945) - the Nazism founder and German "Führer" is probably the most known and feared face in history, and also the face of World War II, which he initiated. He was a charismatic orator and gained, at least initially, his people´s worship. The fascination of his "Reich" and furious HOLOCAUST implementation, also made many of his henchmen well-known. (Enlarged photo)
SADDAM HUSSEIN (1937-) - the longtime Iraqi leader, initiating several internal conflicts and three wars, the Iran-Iraq-War 1980-89, the Kuweit Invasion and Gulf War 1991 and the recent Invasive War 2003, resulting in the collaps of Iraq and his disgraceful capture. The letter is addressed to his daughter, Hala and signed with his full signature. Saddam Hussein is RARE!
LOUIS XIV (1638-1715) - the "Sun King" of France was a truly despotic ruler, who coined the quotation "L´etat, c´est Moi" (The State, that´s Me), and the theory of divine right reached its height. He fought several expanding wars, like the Third Dutch War and the Wars of Grand Alliance, Devolution and Spanish Succession. The document is countersigned Arnaud (of foreign affairs)
SPECIAL KIND OF HEROISM - an unique kind of heroism in modern wars is to cover an exploding grenade with ones own body to save some "buddies". It´s a suicidal instant decision when taken very few survive to tell about. The cards are jointly signed by the six surviving american soldiers in the WWII and Korean War able to tell! They were all awarded the Medal of Honor. Jack Lucas is the only one known to have repeated the feat, but fortunately the second shell was blind!

LUFTWAFFE ACES - a handsome print of two flying Messerschmitts signed by 27 surviving pilots, holding an incredible 3.410 aerial victories between them, notably the highly decorated top aces Hartman, Graf, Barkhorn, Bühlingen, Galland, Batz, Nordmann, Krupinski, Ihlefeld and Gollob.
LAUREL&HARDY - In my opinion the foremost comedians in the business. As a child I was most appealed by "Stan", but now, watching their movies with troubled eyes, I´m able to fully appreciate the truly genial acting of "Ollie" The duo is SCARCE!
JESSE OWENS (1913-81) - the black track star, who upset the "Aryan" theories during Hitler´s own Olympic propaganda games, by winning four Gold Medals and setting two World Records! Before the Olympics Owens broke several World Records. His achievement to win both the 100m and long jump was later to be repeated by Fanny Blankers-Koen and Carl Lewis. Owens is SCARCE!
BILL GATES (1955-) - the wizard of computer soft ware making pages like this possible! Also embodies the american story of success, founding Microsoft and becoming one of the richest men on Earth. Following the American tradition he is also a major benefactor. He usually answers with autopen signed photos! A genuine Gates is as UNCOMMON as a non-problematic pc installation!
"CHE" GUEVARA (1928-67) - was Fidel Castro´s chief lieutenant in the victorious Cuban Revolution, and then served as Minister of Industries before leaving Cuba 1965 to test his revolutionary theories and foster the revolutions in other countries. JUNE WILKINSON (1940-) - a 1958 Playmate and for many years the most photographed woman. |
ANNA MARIE GODDARD (19xx-) - the gordious 40th Anniversery Playmate showing off on this, the most attractive Playboy photo I´ve seen - so far! Anna Marie is dazzling in her nude beauty, but yet seemingly unaffected of our presence...and the light silk creates the ultimate shade of green! Part of the inscription reads... "with love and wet kisses all over"... YES, PLEASE!
GEORGE STEPHENSON (1781-1848) - pioneering the railways development, by building the first steam blast using locomotive in 1815 and engineering several of the new railroads, essential for the industrial era. His locomotive "Rocket" won an 1829 contest and was used on the Liverpool-Manchester Railway. Stephenson is SCARCE!
ARTIC EXPLORATION - before space the exploration of the Poles was the boldest indication of "the right stuff"! Amundsen was the first to reach the South and Peary the North Pole. Shackleton led the most impressive antarctic rescue in 1915, after ice crushed his ship, and Byrd was the first to fly over the North Pole. Both Shackleton and Amundsen are RARE!
THE HAZARDS OF WAR - the two cards covers the victorious British Wars in the Falklands 1982 and Iraq 2003. The victory dressed Thatcher up with "Iron", while the popular Blair almost had to resign in the aftermath. |
"EASY RIDER"(1969) - had an almost religious impact on a generation "Born To Be Wild", dealing with a war in Vietnam, while entering the carefree, wonderful and deceptive "Flower-Power" era. If a film has the ability to make a difference, this one (directed by Hopper) certainly did!
"A NIGHT AT THE OPERA"(1935) - orchestrated by Harpo, Groucho and Chico - unexpectedly brought the final proof why Marxism simply won´t work! If anyone argues that, the movie also vividly demonstrates a wide range of useful strategies how to delay, decieve and distract! Use them in the name of Marx, just for the fun of it! Jointly signed items are RARE!
